The garden in its present form was installed last year as a response to changing needs. It no longer needed to provide a basketball playing area once my son was grown up, nor did I require an experimental garden for flowers. Real estate is expensive and should meet one's needs--those needs became: low maintenance, beautiful views from the house in all seasons, and work and display space for sculpture. We are artists and designers, as opposed to traditional gardeners.
